Wamp Nga Group of Companies was formed in early 1960’s by the Local Government Councils of Hagen, Nebilyer and Anglimp and has become the business arm of three Local Level Government. The Company though owned by the Government is professionally run having full accounts audited and holds an Annual General Meeting every year. It has paid a total of K2.4million in dividends since 1985.

The name Wamp Nga means "Belongs to People" in the Melpa Language.
